OCEEMlab was delighted to host Nicholas Harmon from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution as one of the speakers in UTIG's Seminar Series. Nicholas's talk focused on the PI-LAB Experiment, where the oceanic Lithosphere-Asthenosphere (LAB) system of the Equatorial Mid-Atlantic Ridge was imaged using 39 ocean-bottom seismometers and 39 ocean-bottom magnetotelluric instruments. This study highlights melts' contribution to plate motion over geologic timescales.
Thank you Nick for a fascinating talk!
